Hi, I'm Monica.

I fell in love with 3D art in 2007 after taking a SoftImage XSI class on a whim. That class showed me my future. I later enrolled in Arts and Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 3D modeling and game design in 2011.

Earning the degree only increased my hunger for more. There was still so much to learn in this field. Thus I decided to pack up and move to San Francisco to pursue a Masters of Fine Art in Animation and VFX at the Academy of Art University. In 2016, I graduated with that degree and a deeper love of 3D modeling.

In May 2017 I was hired by Quantum3D, Inc. as a 3D modeler. Simulation modeling is an area I never knew existed, even though I spent quite a few summers flying jets in simulators at the C. R. Smith Museum in Dallas where American Airlines pilots train. I may have started at Quantum as a 3D modeler but quickly found my niche in terrain development. I was able to learn something completely new, which I will never turn down being able to do and at the same time, build valuable skills in this field. I truly love what I do and I can't imagine doing anything else.

This is my passion. I love being surrounded by creative people. I am constantly pushing myself to learn something new, and this field offers it up like candy. Outside of being an artist, I am a nerd. I have seen every episode of Star Trek and not only do I have the script, but I can also almost quote all of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (that's the one with the whales if you don’t know). I also speak Klingon (not as well as I used to, but I still could toast at dinner and die in an honorable manner if needed). I love video games and comics and I collect diecast cars and tiny glass animals. My above-average collection of Lego Technic vehicles and Architecture series is almost embarrassing. I have a cat named Oogie Boogie, after The Nightmare Before Christmas character.

I look forward to my future. I've had a few major setbacks in the past couple of years, but I've come out the other side with a renewed passion for life (liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, sorry, had to). Feel free to contact me!
